The Home of Whitby Jet. As anyone who has visited the famous cobbled street in the old town of Whitby can testify, it is the hub of Whitby Jet manufacturing and retail and we are proud to be the first stop on Church Street for Whitby Jet Jewellery since 2001.
On arrival at Araucaria you will be greeted by friendly and well-informed staff, who will be able to guide you through our selection of handcrafted Whitby Jet jewellery and other gemstone collections. In addition to our finished boutique designs, should you wish for us to put together a selection of a specific style or gemstone for any planned visit, please feel free to get in touch so we can arrange more product to view for any special purchase.
As Araucaria celebrates a 20 anniversary in 2021, we feel - more than ever - it is an important part of any customer experience and peace of mind for those shopping online we are able to welcome you into a physical jewellery boutique. Customer service is our top priority and we want to ensure you when shopping with us, every item of Jet uses genuine Whitby Jet and all our products meet the highest of standards and can be viewed at any time, either in-store or we are happy to arrange a video call at your convenience

We are proud to be part of a wider jewellery family that specialise in the design and manufacture of British gemstones, here in North Yorkshire with Whitby Jet, and from our Derbyshire workshop with Derbyshire Blue John (and where our jewellery business was established in 1979).
In Whitby, alongside Araucaria, our family of jewellers brings together Robert & Victoria, C W Sellors, Whitby Jet Store and W Hamond (which includes the Museum of Whitby Jet and boutiques in Leeds and York) to offer the visitors of Whitby – and online - the most comprehensive selection of handcrafted Whitby Jet and gemstone jewellery. It is only through having several boutiques we can combine and showcase such a wide and diverse range of jewellery to our visitors, and whilst each shop carries their own distinct identity, collections and a selection of jewellery brands, you can purchase with confidence knowing that for all Whitby Jet designs only locally sourced material is used in our Whitby and Derbyshire workshops.
